Things to do BEFORE you hire a trainer – Part 2

The other day we were talking about things to do before you hire a trainer. We especially talked about being clear about WHERE you want to work out.

Location is not the only thing that matters when it comes to choosing the right trainer. You also want to make sure that you find a trainer you can trust and that you “click” with.

Your trainer is somebody you might see 3 or 4 times a week or if you are training online you might talk to them on a daily basis. So finding somebody you feel understands you and who is able to support you in a way you want to be supported is important.

But you also have to keep your goals in mind. Most trainers who have been in the game for quite some time developed a specific niche or specialization. So if your goal is to run a 5k or a marathon, you might want to reach out to a running coach. If you want to lose weight, you want to reach out to somebody like me who specializes in fat loss. If you want to become a bikini model or go on stage, you want to search for somebody who can help you with competition prep.

The clearer you are about your goals and the type of support you are looking for, the easier it will be for you to find the right trainer who can help you achieve your goals.

Before you schedule a session with a trainer, you can do some research. Go on their social media platforms, check out their website, download freebies they offer. You can get a good understanding of a person and what they do simply clicking a few buttons on your phone or laptop and scrolling threw their online presence.

And finally, schedule a consultation with the trainer you’d love to work with. Most trainers will offer a complimentary phone or email consultation to get to know each other and answer any questions you may have. Take advantage of it!

I hope this helps!

Love,
