Soooo, after taking three months off to visit my family in Germany I am finally back home and decided I need to get back in shape. Like ASAP! There’s just a tiny little problem. I love food! And I love, I mean L.O.V.E. ice cream! The store bought ice cream tastes delicious but it won’t get me anywhere when it comes to getting back in shape and losing those extra pounds I mysteriously attracted over the past few months.
Instead of crying myself to sleep every night I decided to be a happy camper and make my own ice cream. It’s super simple (I hate complicated recipes), takes about 2 minutes to make, and tastes great!
You ready? Here we go:
Take one frozen banana (okay fine, there’s a little prep work to be done. Take a banana, chop it into pieces, and put it in the freezer. It’ll be good to go in a couple of hours) and put it in a blender.
Add some milk of your choice. I usually prefer almond or coconut milk.
To give it an extra boost of protein I add some vega sport with chocolate flavor. You don’t have to use a vega product; simply choose your favorite protein powder and if you only want the chocolate taste you can take raw cocoa powder instead.
Blend it, put it in a bowl, voila! Ice cream! Or as we vegans say: nice cream.
You can mix it up any way you like. You can add some berries, maple syrup to make it sweeter, or top it with some nuts or sprinkles. The opportunities are ENDLESS!
You are very welcome, dear! 😉
Let me know in the comments below how you liked it or – even better – post one of your easy, healthy ice cream recipes!
